De Gazet about: In the Shadow of the Truth
December 2016 Irma van Schaijk wrote in de Gazet, a weekly paper:
It all started on the night of May 4-5. The
many documentaries, films and talk shows
made it painfully clear that the survivors
of W.W. II are becoming very scarce. This
makes the black and white of the history
books written by the victor increasingly
emphatic. There is emphatically little
room for personal stories and experiences.
Sonn Franken, author of this war novel,
has different ideas about this.
