• Story: 75 jaar of liberation

• Date: December 2019

• In fact, the whole week was already buzzing. After all, October
26 and 27 was the weekend of the 75th anniversary of the
liberation. Numerous planned events and prominent presence
of Canadian soldiers. Ilse Tempelaars, communications advisor
for the municipality of Bergen op Zoom, was able to link me to a
Canadian soldier for an interview. That was a very interesting
conversation.

• At 6:00 PM, two people joined the table in the Burgundian:
Christopher Cincio and Walter Sendzik. The latter is Mayor of St.
Catharines, home of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment. The first
is the Commanding Officer of that regiment in the position of
Lieutenant Colonel. In addition, Peter de Graaf was present on
behalf of the municipality of Bergen op Zoom.
